We all have had it happen. The inevitable and dreaded nick or scratch on a brand new or beloved pair of shoes! Here’s my go to quick fixer upper without having to make a trip to shoe repair. All you need for a quick fix is: eyeshadow, small eyeshadow brush, nail polish, & hairspray. Over the weekend I fixed up some Missoni & Marc Jacobs heels. The eyeshadow is used to blend into the scuff, and the hairspray will set it (so the shadow won’t rub off onto your jeans or dresses). Depending on the type of heel, the nail polish is used to fill any scratches or dents. Simply select a color that matches the back of your heel. When selecting the eyeshadow, make sure it’s a color that matches the area on the leather you are concealing. I recommend testing on an a non-noticeable area first. The matte black shade in Kat Von D’s True Romance worked flawlessly on the Missoni, and the light creme shade from my Elf palette worked great for the nicks on the leather soles of my Marcs. After you have blended the shadow into the scratch, I recommend blocking the areas with tissue that you don’t want the hairspray overspray to touch. Then hold can several inches away and spray lightly with hairspray. You may need to repeat the adding of shadow & hairspray setting until you reach the desired touch up…and VOILA! Disclaimer: Setting suede with hairspray does lessen the softness of the suede, however, it does protect it, while concealing that pesky scratch! 🙂 Have a great rest of the week, my lovelies! xoxo
Happy Monday! Over the weekend we purchased my new Canon REBEL T5! My blog and my youtube channel will now see better days with this nifty camera! I am just so excited to get back into photography! Sianara to iPhone pseudo art photos! Blessedly, I’ve had some requests over the past week for some of my new Chihuahua Chic designs, so I was busy designing most of the weekend. Thought I would share with you my new Cheetah Chihuahua Chic Fringe Sweatshirt design! For today’s #OOTD I styled it with a pair of jean cutoff shorts and some edgy heels by Pour La Victoire. Meow! Have a bright and beautiful week, my lovelies!
Hello, my lovelies! It was a blessing working for Nintendo at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo last week! It is my second year working as a Nintendo spokesmodel, and it is always so much fun. What could be better than playing video games on the new 3DS!? Gooooooo Chibi Robo Ziplash! I was literally tethered and padlocked to two Nintendo 3DS’ for the week at Treehouse LIVE; this gamer’s dream! All in all, and from my designing perspective, I would have to say that Yoshi’s Woolly World is the coolest game ever!
Yoshi made of yarn makes me want to get back into crocheting 🙂 I should also mention that Tetris and Super Mario 3 will always be my all-time fave games, and Nintendo nostalgia forever in my heart!
Memories were made and meeting Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario and Luigi, with fellow model, Lauren Foulk, was such a delight! A very special thank you goes out to Andrea & Kristina of Lead Detectors! Thank you so much, Nintendo & Lead Detectors, for such a memorable week! Wishing everyone a gorgeous and sunshiny weekend! xoxo ~Kelley
Happy Monday, my loves! It’s been a while since my last blog because I’ve spent most of last week designing with my dogs. Ha! Alas, I’ve begun creating my chihuahua chic line with my chihuahua’s silhouettes! For my line, I started out sketching their silhouettes and logo. Thus far, I have made a few fringed chihuahua silhouette sweatshirts, a “Posh” cashmere scarf, “I Heart All The Cute Chi’s” convertible vest/shawl/scarf, Pooch Ponchos, & reversible silhouette tote bag. There will be more to come in the future! :))) Last week I wore my La Vida Sweatshirt to the Weepies concert. It was a such a great show! The convertible vest was so much fun to make. It is a bit difficult to see in the photo, but the pink “I Heart All The Cute Chi’s” vest is hand painted in silver around the collar and down the back, and with hand sewn glass beads and pearls. It’s made of super soft t-shirt material, and of course, a camo Poshie! Loving that it can be worn in so many different ways. I’m all about versatility, baby! Designing (aka tangible lessons of patience) is my absolute favorite thing to do. I might start out a fashion project with an idea at hand, and it turn out completely different than I had expected (tangible lessons of losing all expectation). There are no limitations when it comes to art and design ❤ ❤ <3. My chihuahuas are enjoying modeling for the line as well, which is making it that much more fun! They strike poses left and right 😉 Wishing everyone a week of fun and summertime sun! xoxo ~Kelle
Summer is here, my lovelies! L.A.’s 90 degree heat wave has me thinking all things beach & summer! There will always be a summer event to attend, so first things first! Summer skin & SPF is essential! Currently crushing on Maybelline’s Dream Nude Airfoam foundation. It has SPF 16 and gives that light & fresh skin-in-a-bottle look! I love its super thin texture, as I don’t normally wear heavy foundations during the day. I have raved about Measurable Difference highlighters before, and for good reason. It makes all the difference! ;))) I picked up a new Measurable shade last week and it was well worth it! I have finally discovered my holy grail highlighter in all of life! It is a light pinky shade with hints of lilac.
It didn’t come with a shade name, but it is a few shades lighter in color than their “Pink” shade that I also love. Both are outstanding highlighters! In this pic, the highlight is from one light-handed brush stroke into the product! It can be amped up to kilo-watt status for night. Seriously keeping this highlighter under my pillow. For sun bronzed skin I love Loreal’s Sublime Self Tanner. It gives a natural airbrushed effect and sprays like an airbrush with the perfect amount of spritz. I use it on the daily! Also, I like to make sure to wear sunscreen high in spf when I’m on the beach. Shimmer bronzer is a must for shoulders & décolletage. I like Victoria Secret’s Bronzing dust on my shoulders when I’m in a bikini. For the featured beachwear look, I went with a Michael Kors black bikini with my Kelley Nicole Collection Floral Hat.
The beach is my absolute favorite place in the world! For me, there’s nothing like the sound of the ocean, the birds, and a good book. Wishing everyone a great week! xoxo ~Kelle
This week I’ve been on a coat designing kick! I dreamt up some dream coats and got to work! The kimono/bomber convertible camo coat comes equipped with geometric camo print, pink silk on the pocket, and with a medallion made from a gold-colored antique owl and my initial. For the other pocket, I added green pompoms and my High Desert Fires pin. Thank you to High Desert Fires for the inspirational piece! I love it! To one of the arm pockets I added a vintage jewelry piece.
Pink beaded silk was then hand stitched into both wrists areas, and added it to the inside of the sleeve to make it reversible in case I want to roll it up. To the back I also hand stitched some vintage jewelry pieces with red stones. Camo with two toned jewelry pieces with silks, makes it a super chic casual look. I can wear it as a bomber, kimono, trench, and with or without the belt. Talk about versatile! Really loved wearing it as a bomber with my revamped holey skinnies. For my other coat revamp, I decided to add my kind of flare, so I gave it a light tie-dyed silk color pop that is just my style. Hippie chic!
My vintage bohemian choker by Kelley Nicole Jewelry Collection will go great with either coat as well!
“Fashions fade, style is eternal” – Yves Saint Laurent. I love that quote, and I also think style is internal. It starts somewhere from within. Have a beautiful day, my lovelies!
We live in a world of consumption. Where everyone wants the latest and greatest new thing. Not sure what happened to the days of old, when antique store finds were the new black. Thought I would share with you my Textures & Versatilities Recycled Wrap. It has history. I wove in pieces that were worn in some other time or space.
There’s something edgy, yet soft and zen about it with the metals and crystals, and can be worn in so many ways. For me, designing isn’t about material, but instead an art form that intertwines past and present through transcendence. Textures and versatilities. I’m all about that life! For more of my work, you can visit my Etsy store. Wishing all a beautiful rest of the week! xoxo ~Kelle
