Hi guys! I’ve spent most of this week designing and thought I would share with you my latest coat design, as featured in my recent OOTW fashion video. I took a vintage velvet and satin size 10 dress and designed it into a coat that is now sewn to size, fits perfectly and is more my style. Here is the vintage dress before:
First, I spent some time crushing the velvet. Design Tip: To crush velvet, use a flat-iron because it gives you more precision and designing capabilities than a large traditional iron.
Next, I took in a few inches of velvet in from the waist, and then cut & sewed slits down the front, back, and sides of the dress to shape the coat:
Then I took some of the excess velvet I cut from the front, and added a triangular crushed velvet tail:

This week was such a fun experience at the RIMS Conference in San Diego, CA! It was an absolute pleasure working for David Corporation! Thank you to Mark, Jeff, Mike, & Bobby for teaching me so much about the field of Risk Management, Insurance, & RMIS Technologies!!
This was the very first time I have ever
dressed as a jockey! Our jockey coats were handmade by an L.A. designer and were so comfy! Thank you for styling me in my favorite color: lime green!! Andddddd we were off to the races when the conference bell struck 10am! There were so many booths, and people came from all over the world to attend Risk Insurance Management Society’s (RIMS) Annual Conference.
If you are in the field of claims and risk management, David Corporation’s Navrisk Vision is a cloud software system that automates claims & risk management tasks and processes. Navrisk’s user-friendly program organizes and strategizes data to help your company lower its total cost of risk. Also, David Corporation provides a FREE RMIS Insights software program at RMISInsights.com and is completely free up to 5,000 claims! Thanks so much to Lead Detectors for the great opportunity to work with an outstanding company and with such lovely people! On a complete tangent, I couldn’t leave San Diego without stopping by Mission Bay and Pacific Beach shops. I mentioned a few of my San Diego finds in my latest video!
Any time I travel I like to pick up a jewelry item and makeup item (or a few makeup items hehe) to remind me of my journeys and of the amazing people I was blessed to meet. The bracelet wrap is made by a company called Good Works.
The sayings on their bracelets are just amazing! I also picked up two Revlon creme shadow palettes, the E.L.F. Mad For Matte palette, & Physician’s Formula shimmer shadows palette. All the shades in each of the palettes will compliment one another nicely, for an array of day and night, warm and cool looks. The Physician’s Formula palette is gorgeous for that center of the eye, eye-opening shine. Can’t get enough of the ELF palette. It is SO good!!! Wishing everyone a very relaxing Sunday! Have a great week! XO ~Kelle

Alas, March favorites!! Better late than never, right!?! In this video I share my favorite products over the month of March. I was blessed to meet some amazing brands at the Natural Products Expo a few weeks ago. The rest of the photos will be up soon, I promise!! A few of the brands made it into my March faves vid. Must say that I cannot get enough of Pacifica’s Dream Big mascara!
It doesn’t clump after 2-3 coats and makes my lashes super long! I have also been lovvvvvvvving the illuminating primer by Mineral Fusion (wearing it in my faves vid).
It reminds me a lot of the Smashbox and Bare Minerals “slippy” primers, that I adore! Mineral Fusion’s Illuminating primer is made with 24 carat gold flakes to help calm the skin.
This primer applies like a dream and smells like citrus. A tiny dot of this primer, goes a very long way. Can’t get enough of it!! Also I have been loving the Lilac Skin Softening Witch Hazel by Humphrey’s.
I think it’s fantastic that Humphrey’s offers several kinds of witch hazel to choose from, depending on your individual skin’s needs. The Lilac version is hands down my favorite because of its skin softening quality & refreshing scent. I’ll do a more in depth post on the benefits of witch hazel very soon. If you have oily skin, the Citrus Oil Control is also fantastic! I’ve used it a few times because my skin can get oily depending on how much makeup I am wearing. Another super fave is my David’s toothpaste!! It’s the best natural toothpaste I have ever used and let’s face it…the aesthetics of it’s recyclable metal package is so gorgeous! It also comes with a metal bar that you slide onto the bottom so that you can twist out every drop of toothpaste. LOVE THAT!! Sulfate free, this natural toothpaste leaves your mouth tasting so fresh and so clean, clean!! 🙂
Another fave is the Caldrea body oil in the scent No. 1 Aloe Water Apricot. It is a beautiful oil that keeps your skin super hydrated. It has lovely light notes of spring and apricot. So yummmmmy!!!!
Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the products mentioned in this video. Please let me know if you use them as well, or if you decide to try any of them out! Muahhhhh!!! XO ~Kelle
In case you guys missed it, my latest Casting Makeup Look & Drugstore GRWM video is now up on Youtube! I went with mostly drugstore makeup items to achieve this minimal look for my casting. A few of these products made it into my March Favorites video that will be up soon as well. Thanks so much to my new subscribers for supporting my channel! Love you!!! For more on the Bellápierre powder palette used in this vid, check out my past post on this awesome mineral face palette. Please let me know if you have any questions about this look! XO ~Kelle
