Happy Sunday, everyone! So every time I go to get ready for the day, or for an event, or for what the day holds, I find myself in a bit of a frenzy. My vanity seems to have overflowed and has magically plopped half of its unorganized contents onto the floor in front of my full length mirror. I say “half,” however, if a hummingbird wanted to rest its wings on my vanity, it too, would be searching for some floor space. There is not a granule of room left on my vanity. So now I just get ready on the floor, which I prefer over sitting in a chair, because it is grounding, closer to earth, and comfy.
This weekend I found myself daydreaming about a spiritually spacious new vanity. Is there such a thing as a buddhist style vanity? One in which you can sit under the vanity cross-legged and chant while you get ready? I know what you are thinking, is not vanity against buddhist belief? And the answer is, well of course. However, a girl does need to get ready, and she might as well get ready to spiritually handle the day (or night), with a buddhist style vanity. I can see it now. My buddhist dream vanity (area) would contain all of the four elements: earth, air, fire & water. The table part of the vanity would be earthy and sustainable, like this Arhaus Petra table, made from fossilized trees from the grounds of the volcanic Central Philippines. A girl needs spiritual space, so I would definitely need two of these Petra tables connected end-to-end, and placed up against a wide wall. I believe the Petra is a dining table, but because this is an enchanted dream, the legs surely could be shortened for buddhist ground-sitting purposes. There would be plentyyyy of Petra table space left for a hummingbird feeder and even for peacefully eating my moong beans & rice and sipping kombucha as I get ready 🙂 If you are searching for a table for your dream room or house, Arhaus dining tables are sooooo stunning!! The rug under the vanity table would be this stunning Arhaus Amrita Hand Knotted Medallion Rug in the shade, Olive. The Petra table would be surrounded by Moroccan, Egyptian, & Bohemian style pillows on the floor. Upon which to sit cross-legged and deep breathe, until my face turns red from breath of fire kundalini meditation (completely defeating the purpose of applying my fair skin foundation); whilst chanting ong-na-mo-guru-dayyyyyy to the rooftops 🙂 I imagine the pillow colors would reflect earth, air, fire, water qualities. Pillows with gorgeous designs and embroidery, similar to these pillows from Anthropologie…
I absolutely love the Batik Cloud Square Pillow for the air element. Who doesn’t want to chant from a cloud?
The mirror on the vanity would look similar to this Arhaus Galvanized Leaf Mirror. I love its whimsical, rustic charm, and the earthy aspect of its leaves. The vanity would definitely need some fire, water, and air flare with these gorgeous candles and diffuser from Volupsa. The Voluspa Makassar Ebony & Peach is my absolute favorite candle scent in all of life. This diffuser would definitely give the water vibe that this beach baby needs.
It would also not be spiritually equipped without some stone candle holders and jewelry holders. I loveeee these Arhaus River Stone Tealight Holders and River Stone Bowls. Next is the organizational tray decor for the buddhist dream vanity. It would definitely include these stunning Arhaus trays. The first would be this Petra Century Marble Tray (loveeeee its Grecian vibe) for my perfumes,
Lastly, but certainly not leastly, is lighting. This is an important feature to a vanity when getting ready. Also important for checking the last minute details of your finished, ready-to-take-on-the-universe look! The dream consists of several of these Arhaus Taza Large Pendant ceiling lights hanging above the Petra tables. They are made of iron and amber colored glass, and go sooooo beautifully with the Petras. I think they are just perfect for a spiritual space. SO, my loves, this basically sums up my buddhist vanity dream. I hope you guys enjoy it! I would love to hear your thoughts and what your dream vanity entails! Much love!!!! ❤ ❤ ~Kelle
