An alien is among us in my latest Sci-Fi Makeup Look & GRWM video! This look was recently requested on my YouTube channel and was so much fun putting together for you guys! When I think of sci-fi I think of aliens and robots, so that became the inspiration for the look. I used my Urban Decay Vice palette to create the gradient smokey grey/white eye for the alien–robot effect. For the ethereal looking highlight, I used Wet N Wild’s When the Nude Strikes highlighter stick. I wanted the focus to be on the alien eyes, so I topped the look off with a nude lipstick by Wet N Wild called Blossom Out. This look turned out to be one that I loved so much that I’ve begun wearing it out at night. Hope you guys enjoy the look and video! Much love! ~Kelle
Hi loves!! This is the makeup look that I wore to my friend’s Alice In Wonderland birthday party this week! In my latest video I give you the deets on how to achieve this retro inspired editorial “Alice” look. The outfit ensemble included a black/white striped dress from 599Fashion, a diamond-shaped necklace I made with some bits and bobs I had lying around, and a pair of funky patent leather red/gold striped platform heels by Paloma Barceló.
In the video, I also take you with me to the party! Was such a fun party with some rockin LA artists!! Enjoy! xoxo ~Kelle
Anyone else have the feels for Spring!!? The sunshine-y weather today is the first day in a while that actually feels like Spring might be right around the mountain! Yay! Felt as if it would be a good time to post my review of Tarte’s Tartelette In Bloom palette for you guys!
Upon opening the palette I was greeted with the wafting aroma of chocolate! Ummm major brownie points!! It smells identical to my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes! Who knew!?!!
That means that I, of course, had to give it a taste…and, yep, the shadows tasted sweet like cocoa! lol.
I love that this palette is equipped for any kind of natural eye look, as well as shadows suitable for smokey eye looks, like Leader, Activist, & Smokeshow.
A woman never knows what she’s up against, so it’s best to be prepared for ANY makeup look 🙂 This palette mos def has you covered!
Included are 3 satin shades, namely, Funny Girl, a gorgeous champagne shade…..
…..FIRECRACKER….a coppery bronze,
and Rocker, a taupe-y silver shade.
Of the three satin shades, Rocker, the taupe-y silver shade, didn’t swatch as buttery, soft, & pigmented as the other two shades. But, nonetheless, it is still pigmented, buttery, beautiful, & my fave of the satin shades :). The two matte shades, Jetsetter & Smokeshow, were the least buttery & blendable of all the shades in the palette. After using Jetsetter today in a look, it blended out to perfection, so maybe I’m just not the best swatcher! In my GRWM vid (above), Smokeshow applied a bit patchy on one of my eyes, & took a bit of work getting it blended out on the other. This makes it difficult to denote if the patchiness is from the shadow, the brush, or the primer.
Funny girl is the best champagne shade for inner eye & brow bone highlighting! I could seriously stare at all 3 of the satin shades for like ever.
This is an ideal palette for travel. It has everything you need with shades perfect for day-to-night, and also includes a giant mirror.
All in all, I LOVE this palette. I will get a ton of use out of it, and highly recommend it if you are a neutrals girl! Of all the shades, Rocker, Leader, Rebel, & Funny Girl are my faves! Hope you enjoyed this review!! Muahhhhhh!!! xoxoxo ❤ ❤ ~Kelle
Happy weekend, loves! My February Favorites are up early for once! ;))) I’ll begin with my most coveted shadow of the month: Rimmel’s “Millionaire” single eyeshadow. You will be a millionaire if you purchase shades as inexpensive as this one! This $2 shadow from the drugstore has been my most worn shade this month.
I love how it is a your skin tone but better type of shade. It is a taupe shade that has a slight pinky mauve undertone and/or duochrome quality to it. When worn at night it looks fierce when paired with dark liner and a darker shade in the crease for a 60’s vibe.
This shade also reminds me a lot of Too Faced’s Puppy Love from the Love palette. The only major difference between them is that Too Faced Puppy Love shade is a little more pigmented and a smidge darker. Get that gleam, girl.
I’ve also been loving Laura Geller’s Bronzing & Highlighting palette, in the shade: Porcelain/Fair. It is a baked powder formulation, that is soft & smooth to the touch, & blends onto the skin like a dream.
In the palette are 3 bronzing/highlighting shades that can be worn individually, you can create combos,
or swirl them into one shade.
If you are wanting something a bit more affordable, Physician’s Formula’s Butter Bronzer, in the shade, Bronzer, is a near perfect dupe for the Laura Geller Bronzer.
When I swirl all three of Laura Geller’s shades into one shade, I honestly can’t tell it apart from the Butter bronzer on my skin. Both bronzers look incredible on fair skin tones.
I’m a big believer that if you take care of your skin with great skincare products, then the less makeup you have to wear. Doll Face Beauty’s Pore Perfection Mineral Mask, Invigorate Cleanser, & Clarify Balancing Tonic have been the highlights of my skincare routine in February. Click here for my recent review & blog on Doll Face Beauty‘s gorgeous line.
When it comes to moisturizing my skin during the day, I have been loving La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer. This has been my pre-makeup moisturizer on the days I wear makeup. Love pairing it with my Garnier BB Cream.
Unfortunately, this moisturizer doesn’t include the ingredients on the back. This is kind of a bummer.
My favorite body lotion has been Andalou Naturals Mandarin Vanilla. It smells divine. If you have ever had an orange cream-sicle pop, it smells exactly like them.
This lotion has all sorts of yummy ingredients for your skin. I’ve even used it on my face with no problemos.
Lately, it has been on the colder side in LA which can leave my hands feeling dry. I’ve been loving Institut Karité Paris Rose Shea Hand Cream. It leaves my hands feeling super soft.
I try out A LOT of facial oils. Oils are my preferred skin moisture method at night. I’ve been loving Sculpt’s Coconut Avocado Face & Body Glow Moisturizing oil. I apply it to my face before bed. This oil is just the right amount of oil, and not too thick of a consistency. It has been replacing my bottle of kitchen avocado oil that I normally slather on my face lol. The smell makes me want to eat it. LOVE IT.
It contains just a handful of healthy ingredients. Paraben free and cruelty free.
Another facial oil I have been loving is Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Bright Booster Oil Elixir. If you are in to aromatherapy, this oil smells of lavender.
It comes with a dropper to dispense a precise amount of oil. This oil is a little too thick for me to wear before makeup. So I have been wearing it at night and have been loving it. Ahhhhhh the aroma of lavender.
On the days when I throw my hair into a quick ponytail, I spritz my hair down with Toni & Guy’s Creative Style Spray Wax. It is great for texturing the ends of my hair, as well. A wax in the form of a spray. Love that.
I’ve definitely had the feels for Spring. I have been loving the bright butterflies on my iphone case. You can find this one and many other styles at the Dollar Tree for $1. That’s, right, only $1! They have a great assortment to choose from for all different brands of phones.
After a day of high heels, I have been loving my Tieks By Gavrieli ballet flats. These are the most comfortable flats I have ever worn. I like to pair them with a t-shirt, skinnies, & some bright lipstick on days where comfort is key. I modeled for Tieks a few years ago, and I have been in love with them ever since. Finding a good pair of flats can sometimes be difficult. These have bounce, hug my foot, and bend when I walk.
They have colors, prints, & textures in every color and style under the rainbow and sun. So finding a pair to reflect your personality is a sinch. I love the Tiffany’s turquoise colored sole with the cheetah print. Style plus comfort.
Hope you guys enjoyed my monthly favorites. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead!! ❤ xoxo Kelle
For all of the hopeless romantics out there, alas is my review of the Too Faced LOVE palette! With Valentine’s Day approaching, it seemed like a good time to review it for you! I was love struck when I first saw the rose gold shade: Adore (the heart farthest to the left).
It was the entire reason why I purchased the palette. This shadow is what really made my peachy-eyed look come to life in my V-day video.
After trying the rest of the shades out, I have so many more reasons to be infatuated with this palette! The shade selection is perfect. They blend and build color amazingly.
The two champagne shades, Cherish & Devotion, are incredible. A gentle tap is all I needed to highlight my brow bone & inner eyes. I lined my upper last line with Amorous. There’s something super soft, natural, & pretty that I love about lining with shadows.
Let’s talk about the waterproof eye pencil that comes in the palette. It comes in the shade, Perfect Black, on one end, and a “thinga-majiggy” on the other end. The black pencil is soft, smooth, & blends amazing. I just can’t bring myself to call the other end a smudger. It is hard plastic. My advice is to keep it as far away from your orbital as possible. I can’t imagine ever using this to blend anything, not even a peach smoothie.
Sweet peachy lips were achieved by layering two Wet n Wild shades, namely, Blossom Out & Within These Adobe walls. I wasn’t expecting the alchemy to come out as peachy as it did, and I ended up loving it! A new fave lip combo from here on out!
Also in the video, I made a makeup blunder by using a wet face brush, unbeknownst that it was still wet from the previous night’s cleaning. Ooooops. It streaked my beloved Sonia Kashuk bronzer & Garnier BB Cream face makeup. So I shared my smoke & mirrors modeling trick to minimizing streaky makeup blunders that you won’t want to miss. Without having to completely redo your face/cheek makeup. Cuz lets face it girls and boys, who has time for that!?!
For soft pink cheeks, I first applied Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush,
with my Real Techniques blush/face brush (hot pink one below). Best makeup brush for la face EVER.
Lastly, I layered Crown of My Canopy highlighter onto Precious Petals. Hello, cheekbones. This new Wet n Wild launch of powder highlighters and cream stick blushes/highlights are what dreams are made of. More on them in my last post.
While my Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer wasn’t a product used in my tutorial, however, I thought it was only fitting to include it in this V-day post. Is becoming happier possible when you smear these gorgeous bronzing hearts on your face? The answer is…..
heck yes. hehe
The sun always sets, the moon always shines, and may you always return to where the love is. Have a gorgeous Valentine’s Day!! xo ~Kelle
When I saw Wet N Wild’s new powder highlighters and Báton de Maquillage cream blushes & cream highlighters in drugstores, I think I went to heaven! Like a moth to a flame, I was entranced! So I picked up one of their new stick highlighters, a stick blush, and two of their new powder highlighters. I was especially drawn in by the glowing floral embossing etched into the powders. Gorgeous!!
Every one of these items now has a cozy little spot in my makeup arsenal. They also made an appearance in my upcoming Valentine’s Day video, so you can see a few of them in action as soon as that video goes up!
The stick Illiminateur is in the shade Win the Nude Strikes, and is the most perfect nude champagne (with soft pink undertones) cream highlighter. I like to apply it with my Elf stipple brush. It applies very smooth and blends into my Garnier BB Cream flawlessly. On days I haven’t worn makeup, I’ve just brightened things up a bit by popping some of this onto my cheeks, brow bone, & inner eyes.
The stick blush is in the shade Peach Bums and it also applies and blends like a dream. The color is stunning and sweetens the cheeks with a gorgeous peach glow, and just a hint of sheen. This color will look ridiculously amazing on bronzed skin! If you are crunched for time, these sticks are a great way to achieve gorgeous glow and color quickly.
The powder highlighter in the shade Precious Petals is a gorgeous champagne (with gold iridescence). A gentle tap in this powerful powder is all you need for a gorgeous glow. Double tap for some double-y bling bling-ing cheekbones.
If you top the When The Nude Strikes stick highlighter mentioned above, with this powder highlighter, you will have some serious wattage going on. Precious Petals makes a stunning inner eye highlight as well.
Crown of My Canopy is a stunning rose gold powder highlighter. Also a perfect shade for summery bronzed skin. These powder highlighters, are rich, pigmented, blend amazingly, and look as good (or better) as any higher end highlighter out there. Both look beautiful as an eye shadow as well. Peachy eyes are my jam!!
These highlighters can be built up quickly into the most gorgeous metallic shades ever.
I hope Wet N Wild comes out with lots more shades of these powder highlighters and stick blushes/highlighters. They are absolutely next level!
I hope everyone is having a rockin weekend! Muahhhhhhh!! ❤ ❤ ~Kelle
TGIF, my DOLL-ings!!! Spa nights should be every night with Doll Face Beauty‘s gorgeous skincare line! Over the past three weeks or so I’ve been using the skincare products that Doll Face Beauty sent me. I was excited to try them in hopes it would soothe my dry-as-a-bone skin 😉 I’ve learned to just roll with it. That is, roll around in hydrating products like these!! :)))
My skin responded SO well to these bottled beauties of hydration in just the first two days. I appreciate the powerful skincare and anti-aging ingredients in this line. I shall begin by saying that glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid are two ingredients that I swear by, and are two ingredients found in many of the Doll Face products. Glycolic helps to exfoliate gently and keeps my skin cells turning over, while the hyaluronic packs in all of the moisture (and keeps it there even while I sleep). Over the last year I’ve only fancied cream or oil cleansers. What is remarkable is that the Doll Face Invigorate Triple-Action Facial gel cleanser is the first gel to not dry out my skin (even when used twice daily!). It leaves my skin feeling SO hydrated and refreshed. Invigorate is equipped with AHA’s and citrus enzymes that my skin is lovvvvvvvvving. It smells diving and invigorates my senses first thing in the a.m. Just a tiny drop of this foaming gel goes a longgggg way and it removes my makeup effortlessly.
When used at night, the Clarify Balancing Tonic gives my skin a glow and helps to repair my skin while I sleep. I’ve loved this tonic so much that I’ve even used it twice a day on some days! Love that it locks in my daily and nightly moisturizers like a dream!
The Doll Face Pretty Puff is an exfoliating sponge soaked in Konjac, rose, & other lovely skincare ingredients. I’ve never used anything like this in my skincare regimen. The sponge-y and squishy texture of this sponge is ever so gentle on my skin. As the most relaxing step in my weekly facial routine, I like to exfoliate with it in conjunction with the Invigorate cleanser once a week. I’ve kept the Pretty Puff in its original packaging, so as to soak up every drop of the ingredients it came saturated in lol.
The Purify Pore Perfection Mineral Mask is a clay mask that gently tightens and firms. When washed off, it feels as if I have just used a hydration mask. Remarkable! The hyaluronic hydration factor for this clay mask is next level! I took this baby with me on my Stylus modeling trip and it was my saving grace for work and travel days!
Last and certainly not least, is that packaging. It was love at first sight!!! These products would also make gorgeous Valentine’s Day gifts for that special someone. ❤
Something to be noted is that I think Doll Face Beauty is a gorgeous company that not only offers lovely skincare, but also an uplifting and empowering message to young women. Companies like this are deserving of LOTS MORE LOVE. I am so proud to introduce them to my subscribers and followers. Be sure to follow Doll Face Beauty on Instagram & Twitter because they do lots of amazing giveaways that you won’t want to miss… #THEPOWEROFPRETTY ! Hope you enjoy this line as much as I do. Happy weekend, DOLL-ings!!! ❤ ❤ xoxo ~Kelle
