Greetings, everyone! Over the past weekend I attended the art show opening of my beautiful friend, Nela Steric, at the Tag Gallery in Los Angeles. Her watercolor work is reflective, deep, vivid, emotional, original & complex. I find her work exceptionally thought-provoking, and so I thought to share a few of my favorite Nela masterpieces with you. Nela uses Yupo paper and watercolor for her artistry, giving each masterpiece a look and feel all their own.
I love that each piece tells a story. Her patriotism pieces are just outstanding, and you might have seen them published somewhere 😉 This next piece is a closeup and so magical. In addition to watercolor, she used pencil to sketch his/her face.
Nela dedicates her life to the arts and is an art educator based in Los Angeles. She is such an inspiration to me and I hope you love her art as much as I do. Wishing you all a blessed day! Muah! ~Kelle
Happy Sunday, everyone! So every time I go to get ready for the day, or for an event, or for what the day holds, I find myself in a bit of a frenzy. My vanity seems to have overflowed and has magically plopped half of its unorganized contents onto the floor in front of my full length mirror. I say “half,” however, if a hummingbird wanted to rest its wings on my vanity, it too, would be searching for some floor space. There is not a granule of room left on my vanity. So now I just get ready on the floor, which I prefer over sitting in a chair, because it is grounding, closer to earth, and comfy.
This weekend I found myself daydreaming about a spiritually spacious new vanity. Is there such a thing as a buddhist style vanity? One in which you can sit under the vanity cross-legged and chant while you get ready? I know what you are thinking, is not vanity against buddhist belief? And the answer is, well of course. However, a girl does need to get ready, and she might as well get ready to spiritually handle the day (or night), with a buddhist style vanity. I can see it now. My buddhist dream vanity (area) would contain all of the four elements: earth, air, fire & water. The table part of the vanity would be earthy and sustainable, like this Arhaus Petra table, made from fossilized trees from the grounds of the volcanic Central Philippines. A girl needs spiritual space, so I would definitely need two of these Petra tables connected end-to-end, and placed up against a wide wall. I believe the Petra is a dining table, but because this is an enchanted dream, the legs surely could be shortened for buddhist ground-sitting purposes. There would be plentyyyy of Petra table space left for a hummingbird feeder and even for peacefully eating my moong beans & rice and sipping kombucha as I get ready 🙂 If you are searching for a table for your dream room or house, Arhaus dining tables are sooooo stunning!! The rug under the vanity table would be this stunning Arhaus Amrita Hand Knotted Medallion Rug in the shade, Olive. The Petra table would be surrounded by Moroccan, Egyptian, & Bohemian style pillows on the floor. Upon which to sit cross-legged and deep breathe, until my face turns red from breath of fire kundalini meditation (completely defeating the purpose of applying my fair skin foundation); whilst chanting ong-na-mo-guru-dayyyyyy to the rooftops 🙂 I imagine the pillow colors would reflect earth, air, fire, water qualities. Pillows with gorgeous designs and embroidery, similar to these pillows from Anthropologie…
The mirror on the vanity would look similar to this Arhaus Galvanized Leaf Mirror. I love its whimsical, rustic charm, and the earthy aspect of its leaves. The vanity would definitely need some fire, water, and air flare with these gorgeous candles and diffuser from Volupsa. The Voluspa Makassar Ebony & Peach is my absolute favorite candle scent in all of life. This diffuser would definitely give the water vibe that this beach baby needs.
It would also not be spiritually equipped without some stone candle holders and jewelry holders. I loveeee these Arhaus River Stone Tealight Holders and River Stone Bowls. Next is the organizational tray decor for the buddhist dream vanity. It would definitely include these stunning Arhaus trays. The first would be this Petra Century Marble Tray (loveeeee its Grecian vibe) for my perfumes,
Lastly, but certainly not leastly, is lighting. This is an important feature to a vanity when getting ready. Also important for checking the last minute details of your finished, ready-to-take-on-the-universe look! The dream consists of several of these Arhaus Taza Large Pendant ceiling lights hanging above the Petra tables. They are made of iron and amber colored glass, and go sooooo beautifully with the Petras. I think they are just perfect for a spiritual space. SO, my loves, this basically sums up my buddhist vanity dream. I hope you guys enjoy it! I would love to hear your thoughts and what your dream vanity entails! Don’t forget to follow Arhaus on Instagram & Pinterest for some seriously exquisite designs! Much love!!!! ❤ ❤ ~Kelle
Good morning, lovely ones! There is nothing quite like the gift of art. Art is one of the most inspiring vessels for creativity. Art tells a unique, one-of-a-kind story, that only the artist can tell. This glorious pottery mug, handmade by Professor Jill Brugler, was sent to me this week by my friend Charles Blim, owner of the Charlie B Gallery in Nevada. Charlie is an arts enthusiast and extraordianry advocate for artists!
He mug hugged me with this gorgeous drinking vessel in my favorite shade of lime green. Its beautiful design is just….wowwwww…I am at a loss for words. I absolutely love its bright, bohemian, and marbled look. The marbling reminds me so much of tie dye, one of my favorite things. Dishwasher safe, too! Charlie has created a movement of gifting people with pottery mug art, created by local Nevada artists, from his gallery. He will randomly gift a postal employee, gallery patron, and even gifts complete strangers, with a mug masterpiece from his gallery. Not only does he light up the day of the person he gives a mug too, he is also getting the beautiful work of his local artists out into the world. The world needs more people like Charlie. Supporting the arts is of crucial importance, and especially now, more than ever before.Without art, life would just be blahhhhh. To me, art is life, and life is art. My grandmother was an artist. She taught me so much about life through art. One time when I was kid, she painted a mural of a giant bear staring up at the stars onto the entire side of a van. It was a masterpiece. When she painted faces, you would see yourself for the first time. Art pulled her through the Great Depression and then some. And art, coffee, and this spiritual drinking vessel shall get me through this great political depression 🙂 While on the topic of art/ists, I thought I would also feature this gorgeous mug with a Tiger’s Eye origami resin bowl, handcrafted by artisans at Lawrence Essentials. The colors in this handcrafted bowl are so stunning when the light hits it just right. Amber lights are just so sooooooothing & love it paired with my new Brugler mug ;)))
Some of the greatest masterpieces have been made with an artist’s own two hands. It is remarkable to think about the time, the stories, inspiration, brilliance, patience, and dedication it takes for an artist to create a unique work of art. There will be loads of morning medium roast Kona Hawaiian coffee & afternoon green tea sipped from this lime green goblet of goodness. May Charlie’s Giving Cup inspire fashion/jewelry design and lyrics! With <3, a Professor Brugler lime green goblet masterpiece & Kona coffee, there is nothing that can’t be conquered! :))) Thank you so much for the mug hug, Charlie!!! Godspeed to Charlie’s Art Movement! As much as he supports artists, we can also support him by following him on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram! You never know, he may just #MUGHUGYOU! Much love!! ~Kelle ❤ ❤
Hi loves!! This is the makeup look that I wore to my friend’s Alice In Wonderland birthday party this week! In my latest video I give you the deets on how to achieve this retro inspired editorial “Alice” look. The outfit ensemble included a black/white striped dress from 599Fashion, a diamond-shaped necklace I made with some bits and bobs I had lying around, and a pair of funky patent leather red/gold striped platform heels by Paloma Barceló.
In the video, I also take you with me to the party! Was such a fun party with some rockin LA artists!! Enjoy! xoxo ~Kelle
Anyone else have the feels for Spring!!? The sunshine-y weather today is the first day in a while that actually feels like Spring might be right around the mountain! Yay! Felt as if it would be a good time to post my review of Tarte’s Tartelette In Bloom palette for you guys!
Upon opening the palette I was greeted with the wafting aroma of chocolate! Ummm major brownie points!! It smells identical to my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes! Who knew!?!!
That means that I, of course, had to give it a taste…and, yep, the shadows tasted sweet like cocoa! lol.
I love that this palette is equipped for any kind of natural eye look, as well as shadows suitable for smokey eye looks, like Leader, Activist, & Smokeshow.
A woman never knows what she’s up against, so it’s best to be prepared for ANY makeup look 🙂 This palette mos def has you covered!
Included are 3 satin shades, namely, Funny Girl, a gorgeous champagne shade…..
…..FIRECRACKER….a coppery bronze,
and Rocker, a taupe-y silver shade.
Of the three satin shades, Rocker, the taupe-y silver shade, didn’t swatch as buttery, soft, & pigmented as the other two shades. But, nonetheless, it is still pigmented, buttery, beautiful, & my fave of the satin shades :). The two matte shades, Jetsetter & Smokeshow, were the least buttery & blendable of all the shades in the palette. After using Jetsetter today in a look, it blended out to perfection, so maybe I’m just not the best swatcher! In my GRWM vid (above), Smokeshow applied a bit patchy on one of my eyes, & took a bit of work getting it blended out on the other. This makes it difficult to denote if the patchiness is from the shadow, the brush, or the primer.
Funny girl is the best champagne shade for inner eye & brow bone highlighting! I could seriously stare at all 3 of the satin shades for like ever.
This is an ideal palette for travel. It has everything you need with shades perfect for day-to-night, and also includes a giant mirror.
All in all, I LOVE this palette. I will get a ton of use out of it, and highly recommend it if you are a neutrals girl! Of all the shades, Rocker, Leader, Rebel, & Funny Girl are my faves! Hope you enjoyed this review!! Muahhhhhh!!! xoxoxo ❤ ❤ ~Kelle

I will start by saying thank you SO much to GiltsandGlamz for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award over the weekend! I am so appreciative to those of you who follow, read, & support my blog! I like to put a lot of time into my posts, so it means a great deal to me that GiltsandGlamz would nominate me! Your guys’ and gals’ support means so so SO much!!! Whether it pertains to health, fitness, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, etc., I absolutely adore writing/blogging on these topics. It was really my love for all of these things that triggered my desire to start a blog. One of my greatest passions has always been photography, so I absolutely love that aspect of blogging as well. I am constantly feeling like I am missing moments to capture when I don’t have my camera with me!!!! My advice to new bloggers is to first narrow your passions. Then blog about your passions with relevant content including photos, quotes, and witty writing. In the info age, short and sweet sentences are best for holding your readers’ attention. Also, I recommend putting in the extra time to select and edit impressive photos. A picture can speak a thousand words, so bright & powerful content really helps to grab your readers’ attention. GiltsandGlamz is an incredible blog that I love reading on the daily, and I invite you to subscribe and follow her blog as well. Congrats to the blogs I have nominated below, and have a beautiful week!!! ❤ ❤
Now for the nominations….drum roll pleaseeeeeee….I nominate the following blogs for the Bloggers Recognition Award:
Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
Write a post to show your award.
Give a brief story of how your blog started.

Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
Two Pieces Of Advice For New Bloggers:
Let this be something you enjoy and cherish do not, do not go crazy over how many views or likes a day you’re hitting, yes, that makes you happy and makes want to put in more work, which is great and that’s how it should stay. Your number one priority should be to make your self happy with the content of your blog because when you love what you put out there so will your readers.
Be YOU, Be REAL yes, original is what your aim should be, trust me when I say you do not need to change the way you speak to publish content on your blog, write as you speak, write as you feel, and write as though you were talking to a friend in a real life, that is whats going to attract and connect readers to your blog.
