Zen Winter hydration is imperative for dry skin. Pearlessence facial mist waters have been my saving grace over the past few months. Aromatherapy is as important to me as yoga. When I get too busy to workout, aromatherapy is my yoga. lol. When my skin gets thirsty I hydrate it with the lightly scented Rose Water, Coconut Water, & Cucumber Water facial mists, by Pearlessence.
The Coconut Water scent is my morning waker-upper. The light and sweet coconut scent gets me going in the a.m. That and a heaping cup of coffee. 😉
On spa days/nights, I use the Cucumber Water because it has a very light & refreshing cucumber aroma. After a relaxing facial massage, spraying this on my face helps to lock in extra moisture. Zen in a bottle, baby.
Roses remind me of the rain. Dew drops on roses are just so beautiful. This is the perfect facial water for a rainy day and/or pick-me-up. This is also the bottle I reach for the most for setting my makeup. Dewy skin is always in, especially with rose water.
What I love is that these 8 oz bottles last forever. They are like the size of an 8oz glass of water! The spritzer on each bottle sprays the perfect amount of mist with just one pump. I have been using them all for almost three months now, and they are barely reaching the top of the label mark. The glass bottles look really beautiful on a vanity & would also make really great Christmas gifts! Happy Holidays, everyone! XO ~Kelle
Happy Labor Day, my loves!! I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend! Just in case you missed my latest YouTube video, my Highlighters Only Challenge video is below! Thank you to my subscriber, Nick, for requesting this video! It was so much fun putting together this full-face-using-highlighters-only look with some of my favorite glow-potions. I didn’t have a shimmery foundation, so I made one by mixing up three of Hard Candies’ highlighters. Hysterical as a foundation, the 3-highlighter mixture is actually a great one for daily dewy glow on the high points of the face! Overall, I would most definitely say that this look isn’t meant to be a wearable look, as lots of highlights on the skin can exaggerate every nook & cranny! BUT, it does photograph great for editorial and black and white photos! Hope you guys enjoy the video! ❤ ❤ ~Kelle
Hope you guys had a great weekend! Sending out congrats to Cassandra, the winner of my Wet N Wild Giveaway! You rock, girl! Thanks for everyone who entered and who has recently subscribed to you YouTube channel! Your support is AMAZING!!!! If you missed my latest video, be sure to check it out below for reviews of my Top 5 Holy Grail Concealers! I am traveling at the moment and meant to get this blog out before I left. Sorry for the delay! Here are my Top 5 Can’t Live Without Them Concealers! My #1 is LA Girl’s Pro HD Concealer in the shades are Natural, Classic Ivory, & Nude.
The salmony tones in the shade nude are great for undereye darkness. The darker shades in the range are great as contour shades as well. This concealer looks airbrushed anytime I use it for shoots. I absolutely cannot live without it and have backups of my backups in all the shades mentioned! #2 is Cle De Peau.
I really only use my Cle De Peau concealer stick for blemishes because it is just a bit to dry to use under my eyes. It conceals blemishes sooooooo well and has been a staple in my makeup bag for years.
#3 is my Cover Girl concealer in the shade: 710 Light. The reason why I chose this is for number three is because it reminds a lot of Cle De Peau, but without the hefty price tag. I depotted my Cover Girl stick because it makes the product so much easier to work with when applied with my Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer brush.
Tied for #4/#5 are Laura Mercier’s secret concealer in the color 2 and Stila’s concealer in the shade Honey 08. They have similar very creamy textures and blend like a dream into the skin. Both concealers are fantastic for dry skin and are super hydrating when used under the eyes. Because their creamy textures are so similar, I give them a tie! Please let me know if you guys have tried any of the above concealers and let me know what you think. Also, please be sure to subscribe to my YouTube, so you can be in the loop for my next makeup giveaway! I’ll be giving away some awesome Kat Von D makeup! You won’t want to miss it! :))))))) Have a great week everyone!! XO ~Kelle
Last week at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, CA, I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful women of Pacifica! Such inspirational women!!
Pacifica’s Founder, Brook Harvey
Pacifica’s Art Director, Ixtla Vaughan
100% Vegan & cruelty free, this all natural beauty brand has been one of my favorites for quite some time. At the Expo, Kimberli, Brook,& Ixtla gave me their new Dream Big mascara & some other products to try out.
Their coconut facial cleansing wipes and multi-mineral BB Cream have been favorites of mine for a while, so I couldn’t wait to try out some of their other items above. Pacifica will be launching their new haircare line at the Ulta store opening in Salinas, CA on April 8th, 2016! In light of the new launch, they sent me some of their new products! Here is my Pacifica Unboxing video:
Pacifica’s Devocean lipstick is in the shade Beach Goth and makes the most perfect lip stain when applied lightly! Vamp it up by adding a few more layers of this gorgeous berry shade!
I wouldn’t say it is a matte lipstick, but I also wouldn’t say it is a sheer one, which makes it perfect for day/night longevity as well as for keeping my lips hydrated. Next, their Dream Big adjustable wand mascara is revolutionary!! Just twist the bottom of the wand handle and you get a long wand for lengthening lashes!
OR twist it down to make the wand shrink to a shorter wand for voluminous lashes. I am also lovinggggg the shorter wand for applying the mascara to my bottom lashes!
To sum it up, this mascara is GENIUS. I also love the serum type formula. It makes for a smooth application, & doesn’t clump! The bristles are firm, short, comb-like, & don’t miss a single lash! ❤ that! When bristles are too long & bushy, it sometimes gets product on my eyelids & shadow which requires touching up. Dream Big mascara does not do that! Nice work, Pacifica! Included in the bohemian-styled Pacifica boxes were two skincare items: Rice Bright Skin Luminizing Cleansing Paste and Quinoa Sensitive Face Wash.
I’ve been using the Glow Baby Face Scrub and Sea Foam Cleanser (shown at the top of page) over the past week and have been loving them both thus far. The Sea Foam cleanser’s coconut scent is divine. It’s not too sweet-smelling, which I really love. It’s the perfect coconut aroma. I’ll be trying out the Rice Bright & Quinoa Cleansers asap! Which leads me to a SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t yet seen my unboxing vid! The yummy scent of their new Coconut Power Hair Care Products smells identical to the Sea Foam face cleanser! Soooooooo yummmmmy!!!
Some more of their new haircare line in this unboxing included deep conditioning products:
My hair is always on the dryer side from color-treating and styling, so I’ll be sure to let you know how these products do for S.O.S. on my hair. I am big lover of kale and use it a lot in my The Daily Vitamin smoothies! What you eat plays a big role in hair and skin, as does what you apply to your hair and skin. The more natural, the better! So I absolutely cannot wait to try Pacifica’s new natural Kale Shampoo & Conditioner. It has a light sweet scent of sweet kale with lovely minty notes.
I also unboxed Pacifica’s new hair styling products:
There was not one product in the unboxing that did not smell like a dream come true! It will take me some time to try out these new products, but I will provide feedback for you as soon as I try them all out. I hope you guys enjoyed this Spring Pacifica unboxing! If you are interested in Pacifica products, here is my Daily Vitamin discount code:
Hi loves!! It has been quite a while since my last eyeshadow haul. I decided to not do a video on this one because nearly every girl & boy immersed in the wonderful world of makeup knows about Milani’s amazing eyeshadows 🙂 If you are not familiar with them, the shadows are gel-like when they are used wet, & I find that their gel texture really helps with adhering to my eye primer for all-day/night longevity. Many eyeshadows these days can be used wet, however, they are not always a gel texture & I am all about not having to touch up! I am a huge fan of them and picked up 7 more shades.
Thought I would mention that my favorite crease shade in the entire Milani eyeshadow range is Bella Mandarin. It is so good that I could eat it!!! Hehe! Really though, the shadows are Vegan! How amazing is that!? I also can’t get enough of Milani rose blushes! You can read more about them in my past blog. Happy weekend, everyone!! XO ~Kelle
Eye glow brought to you by my new fave cream eyeshadow: e.l.f. Cosmetics’ “Soiree.”
In the container it looks cranberry/taupe in color. But if you use a light hand when applying it, it gives the most radiant skin-like glow!! There are silver sparkles …but they catch the light SO well. Also great for that glossy-eyed look without having to use sticky face gloss.
Neutral brown shades look awesome on top of Soiree (today I topped it with a mix of Naked Basics’ “Flaunt” + “Naked 2”). The combo wore great all day. In this photo my makeup was on for about 12 hours.
Used Soiree as my base all week & so far am laaaaaaaaving it!! Highly recommend it!! 👁👁👍🏻👍🏻
For a commercial casting this week I decided on a monochromatic classic lip and cheek look in shades of scarlet! In my recent blog and YouTube skincare routine video, I discuss how I prep my skin before applying on-camera makeup—#facialfitness is an integral step in my pre-makeup routine. My absolute favorite blush and highlighter right now are both from Measurable Difference! This brand is super affordable and can be found online or at your local Marshall’s for only $3.99 each! I love the gold packaging on the baked highlighter, and each comes with enough product to last you for years. Literally, years! Still pinching myself over the price for the outstanding quality AND quantity of these products! The scarlet-coral colored Measurable Difference baked blush is in the shade “Pink Rose,” and creates the perfect natural flush! Normally when I wear red lips I use a pink blush, but because I chose a monochromatic look I went with the rosy tones of this blush (to pair with the scarlet lips). I also used it on my temples to brighten my face and I have yet to try the blush on my eyes! Pink Rose is highly pigmented and one tap on your brush packs a punch! Loved pairing the rose blush with the light pink natural sheen of the baked highlighter in the shade “Pink” (Measurable Difference refers to it as a bronzer, but it is indeed, a highlighter).
To top off the look I used Revlon’s Colorburst Lipgloss in the shade, “Fire.” Hot diggity does this lippie look like the red kool-aid I used to drink as a kid! I just love it!!!!! This red is super glossy, and after it wears off it leaves a really pretty red lip stain behind that I love! I set my Covergirl Invisible concealers with Wet N’ Wild’s Reserve Your Cabana and also contoured with Wet N’ Wild’s Ticket to Brazil bronzer. The Too Faced chocolate bar palette is so great for creating those natural classic eye looks! And I also used NYC’s 24 hour eye primer and eye pencil in Black Wine. I’ve been wearing the 24 hour eye primer a lot lately because of it’s priming power! This is a look I like to wear a lot for commercial castings because it showcases your features in a natural way and with a pop of color, without looking overly done up. Artistic expression comes in so many forms. I treat makeup like I would sketching, designing, singing, etc. I go with what or how I feel. Some days might be bright yellow, while today is scarlet. We are all touched by something and colors help to create and inspire the beautiful canvas called life. How will you color your happy today, my lovelies?! xoxo ~Kelle
