April Favourites: Beauty, Body, Hair & Home!

Ahhhhhhh aromatherapy!  It’s about that time for April favourites (in May lol).  Lately I have been rather obsessed with Soap & Glory’s Smoothie Star Body Milk.  It is incredibly moisturizing and smells like a dream.  It is a gourmand scent with almond, honey, oats etc.  I don’t find the scent to be sickening sweet, but rather, a calming sweet accord-ion of well-orchestrated notes.  It layers so nicely with musks & floriental perfumes.  Absolutely loveeeee it!

Another favorite is my Ibiza round hair brush.  This brush beats every brush I own! A blow dry is just never quite the same if I try and blow dry my hair with my other brushes.  The Ibiza grabs every strand of hair in a section with one swipe, smoothes & shines each strand, and brushes through it effortlessly.  If you have long hair, this is amazing for big Bridget Bardot waves.  Also great for straight hair looks.  It is a blow dry and styling must!

April wouldn’t have been the same without my Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster in the shade: light to medium.  It is similar in shade to my beloved butter bronzer, but has more of a glow due to its sheen.  The sheen doesn’t register as glitter on the skin, but instead as a sun kissed glow.  When I wear a faux tan, this is the bronzer I pair with it.  As reflected in the below photos, this bronzer is very well loved :)))

My skin cleansing routine in April included a new cream cleanser I have been adoring from Lily of the Desert.  I’ve been testing out several products from this line over recent months and will be mentioning a few more of my faves very soon.  This gentle, aloe-based cleanser is fantastic for my dry skin peeps.  It has been my go-to cleanser for a quick scrub before and after my workouts.  I love that it also includes chamomile.  #soothing ❤

After cleansing, my skin gets a quick daily exfoliation with Doll Face Beauty’s Clarify Tonic.  I’ve mentioned this baby many times on my blog and channel.  It is THAT good. The glycolic acid in this balancing tonic keeps my skin exfoliated and refreshed.  I wear it once daily either right before moisturizing/pre-makeup or before bed prior to moisturizing.  ❤ it!

Another skincare product that I was never without in April was my Honey Girl Organics The Lotion Face & Body moisturizer.  It preps and plumps my skin for makeup and keeps it deeply moisturized all day long.  Cruelty-free, organic, gluten-free & made with honey and skin-soothing luscious oils, this emollient moisturizer is the bees knees.

Lastly, but certain not leastly, is my DW Home Black Rose Oud candle.  This is basically heaven on earth.  The scent is rich, decadent and sooooo relaxing.  This candle falls into my top 5 candles list of all time.  I will be doing that blog and video someday soon :))))) Maybe it’s just me, but every once and while I will get a wiff of tobacco with the rose and oud notes.  I am like a mad woman on the hunt for a perfume that smells identical to this black rose oud scent.  The gold lid with black bow & black glass holder makes the presentation of this candle so classic and chic for the home or to give as a gift.  A bath and bubbles would not be the same without this black rose beauty. #DIVINITY

3 Non-Hair Flat Iron Tips | Designing

Hi guys,  I designed this pink lace top a few weeks ago and have been meaning to post its correlating diy video, that features a few of my quick designing tips.  So hereeeeee are 3 of my favorite non-hair uses for a hair flat iron 🙂

Quick Tip #1:  Flat irons are a great tool for ironing out your hems & seams after sewing.  A flat iron with customized temperatures allows you to lower the temperature for ironing more delicate fabrics.

Quick Tip #2:  When traveling, hair flat irons make great clothing irons .  How many times have we opened our suitcases to find our pressed clothes wrinkled again!?  Flat irons are compact, and get the clothing wrinkles out STAT style.

Quick Tip #3:  Crush velvet with a flat iron by accordion folding the area of fabric you want crushed, and then iron the accordion folds with your flat iron.  Voila, crushed velvet!

When it comes to designing, traveling (& my hair), I cannot go without a flat iron! For you home & lifestyle lovers out there here is another DIY tip!  The wicker chair in the photo below had seen better days.  It was severely peeled and frayed on every foot of the chair.  I like the look of frayed wood, however, this was the pokey kind of fraying and I have little dogs.  To better conceal the fraying wood, I recycled khaki jeans and cut off four strips of the khaki, & then tied each strip as a bow on the chair’s bottom legs.  She’s as good as new now!  I absolutely love filming my YouTube videos from that chair!  Hope you guys find my designing tips useful, my loves!  Have a great rest of the week!  XO ~Kelle

Day or Night Drugstore Makeup Look | GRWM

Okay guys, as requested here is a GRWM vid of one of my all-time favorite drugstore makeup looks, as well as my current hair routine.  I like to wear this makeup look lightly for daytime and amped up at night.  Also love wearing this look without mascara sometimes. How in TARNATION this vid is 35 min long is beyond me! lol.  I also had a few flubs with my mascara that I ended up just turning into a smokier liner for night.

Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette | Any look can be created with this palette!

The Wet N Wild duochrome shadow in the Comfort Zone palette is what really makes this look. This palette has been a holy grail for eons!  My go-to is pairing it with a peachy cheek, as the tones work nicely together. For day, I normally wear a natural gloss on my lips with this look, but for night, I mixed the Milani’s “Nude Creme” & Wet N Wild’s “Within These Adobe Walls” lipstick shades to finish the makeup look. For my hair, I added

Pacifica Hairvana Leave-In Conditioner

Pacifica’s Hairvana Leave-In Conditioner and Native Flower hair Oil to give it some body and sheen while it air dried during the video.  Pacifica haircare products have uber nourishing ingredients for my course hair.  I especially love Hairvana’s coconut scent!  My hair dries in lightning speed, so I almost neva blow dry it.  I just twist it, & wrap it into a low bun, and then remove bun for heat-free waves. Hope you guys enjoy this look!  Please be sure to like & subscribe to my channel for more beauty, fashion, & style videos! :_))))) XO ~Kelle

New #DIY Do, New Life, New You!

It was time. I decided to give myself some layers tonight! It has taken about two years for my natural color to grow out, after bleaching it platinum blonde a few years back. It’s nice having healthy hair now after all the damage I had put it through with the bleach. Two years of hot oil treatments (coconut & argan oils) and leave in conditioners have nursed it back to life! When I do a #diy haircut, I just use small scissors for precision.  Then I basically Dr. Scissorhand it! ;)))))  I’m feeling lighter now.  My philosophy with hair has always been: new do, new life, new you!  What do you guys think of my new #diy do!?

Ooooh La La Loreal! My New DIY Hairdo!

Hi my loves!  If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen that last week I highlighted my hair for my recent Tieks by Gavrieli photo shoot at Hotel Casa Del Mar! A blog post on the most comfortable ballet flats I’ve ever worn will be coming soon!  For my hair, I chose Loreal’s Frost & Design in the shade H85 Champagne.  In the past I’ve added lowlights, but never highlights, and therefore, was a bit nervous. But I thought I’d give it a try because you only live once!  It is the kind of all-over highlights that you pull through a cap.  This method gives precise all over highlights, without having to worry about product spots dropping on your hair.  Pulling hair through the holes with the enclosed crochet type hook can be tricky.  Using a mirror to see the back was essential.  Also important to pull hair through the holes very gently.  Because I was fearful of epic amateur hair failure, I did not leave the product in long enough. So my first attempt at highlighting was hardly noticeable.  Last night I thought I’d try it again, and picked up some more of the same flavor.  I left it on for 15 minutes longer this time and I am so glad I did.  The color is almost back to being exactly the same as when I first started modeling for only $22!  Thank you so much, Loreal! Hair photo shoots are my absolute favorite to shoot, so I took some artsy photos of my new hairdo on my Canon.

Coloring my own hair was so much fun, too! It was like painting!  Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo ~Kelle
