2016 Yearly Beauty Favorites & Happy New Year Limited Edition Makeup Giveaway!

TGIF, loves!! I have finallyyyyyy completed the compilation of my 2016 beauty favorites!  In no particular order of amor, I will begin with lip products. For 2016, and life in general: color was (is) key.  Throughout the year I loved NYX’s Butter Lipsticks in the shades: Thunderstorm (I wear this nearly every day of my life), Moonlit Night, Sweet Shock, Afternoon Heat, & Rootbeer Float.

NYX Butter Lipsticks, Shades (left to right): Rootbear Float, Thunderstorm, Afternoon Heat, Moonlit Night, & Sweet Shock
My most loved daytime foundation for 2016 was my Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream, SPF 15, Shade: Light/Medium.  This BB cream provides outstanding coverage with major skin hydration benefits that my dry skin needs.  What’s great is that its finish doesn’t appear to be overly saturated with moisture or dewiness. It leaves your skin looking flawless, with coverage, and rarely required the use of powder.  Hands down my go-to foundation product for most of my on-camera work in 2016.  I’ve raved on and on about my love for Miracle Skin Transformer’s Miracle Balm over the last year, so I of course had to include it in my yearly faves.  This creamy oil balm is the perfect fix for parched skin, lips, cuticles, etc.  I wear it on my lips nearly every day. OBSESSED.

Garnier BB Cream, Miracle Skin Transformer’s Miracle Balm, & L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur concealer
If I didn’t have L’Oreal’s Visible Lift Blur concealer in my life, I would be lost! This light liquid type concealer is the perfect amount of coverage for hiding darkness and circles, without looking like you have concealer on.  It really does blur the underyes, and its thin, light & creamy texture gives a weightless appearance to undereyes.  Dream come true concealer!!  Another makeup item I would be lost without are highlighters!  My favorite face bling set in 2016 was Anastasia’s Sundipped Glow Kit.  IMG_3655 2.jpg

My favorite shades in the palette are Tourmaline & Moonstone.  They also make beautiful eyeshadows….

Bell√°pierre’s Contour & Highlight mineral powder palette was used on the daily in 2016.  These shades are so buttery and blendable.  I love the combo of cool and warm bronzers, and the yellow shade is perfection for setting under eye concealer.  This palette is definitely well-traveled.  IMG_3607.jpgMy most cherished pink/white/lilac highlighter for inner eye, brow, cheek bones, cupid’s bow brightening was (is) my Measurable Difference Baked Face/Body Bronzer (but really it’s a rockin highlighter :))) It is one of the softest & smoothest baked highlighters I’ve ever used, & blends to perfection.  I’d say I used it about 99.9% of the year for waking up my eyes!

Another Measurable Difference fave for 2016 was my Rose Hip Body Oil.  While meant for the body, I use it on my face (don’t worry, the bottle says it can be used on the face ;).  It has an authentic rose scent and I love the pretty flowers floating in it.  A great facial hydration oil and bath oil as well.  LOVE it.

Measurable Difference Rose Hip Hydrating Body Oil (can also be used on face)
2016 was definitely the year of the oils for me.  I am getting very low on my giant bottle of Ole Henriksen Body Oil (oddly, it looks full in the photo, but it’s not). In fact, I am starting to fret as I am nearing the 75% empty mark.  This was a big part of my nighttime relaxation ritual and helps me to get to zzzzzzzz. Mos def a 2016 favorite.IMG_3647.jpg

A girl without bronzers is a girl with pale skin, like me, lol.  I have two bronzer adorations for 2016 (and well on into 2017 :))): Sonia Kashuk’s Cream Bronzer in the shade: Rich, and Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, in the shade: Bronzer.

Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer, Shade: Rich | Physicians’ Formula Butter Bronzer, Shade: Bronzer
I love the creaminess and blendability of Kashuk’s bronzer.  Amazing for dry skin.  And the Butter Bronzer is one of the most buttery powder bronzers I’ve ever used.  It was the perfect shade in wintery pale skin months.  I’ll be loving these just as much in 2017, too.  My favorite cream blushes were NYX’s Tickled & Boho Chic.  Tickled is a shade I will describe as looking similar to LAVA.  This lavalicious shade is perfect for brightening skin with gorgeous color in summer and winter months.  Boho Chic is that perfect pink for cheeks that look like your own with that hint of pink flush.

Milani’s baked blushes are drugstore gems!! If you have never tried them, they are uber pigmented and STUNNING!!  They give a sheen to the skin that is so gorgeous.  My favorite shades are Luminoso, Rose D’Oro, Berry Amore, & Dolce Pink.  I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the shades from the line.

A skin brightening liquid product that I adored in 2016 was Bare Minerals’ Biolucent Mineral Brightening Treatment.  It gives glow and great moisturizing benefits as well.  I like to apply it all over my face & undereyes after moisturizer, and before foundation.  It gives my skin radiance without looking overly glowy/dewy.  IMG_3602.jpg

My beloved Eucerin was my most used face moisturizer in 2016.  The larger than life bottle is nearly gone as I used it a ton for facial massages.  It’s one of the moisturizers that makes my skin feel and look hydrated when I wake up in the morning.  Holy grail moisturizer fo sho!  IMG_3675.jpg

In addition to moisturizing, proper exfoliation (once a week or so) are a must for keeping my skin healthy.  I also like to drink rice water before my shoots to boost the health & appearance of my skin.  That said, I am obsessed with Pacifica’s Rice Bright Luminizing Cleansing Paste.  It exfoliates, boosts, & moisturizes my skin, all in one product!IMG_3635.jpg

As I am sure you have heard me go on and on about, Pacifica’s Dream Big Mascara was a big hit for me in 2016.  The revolutionary, hard plastic magic bristles (that adjust via the handle) give me the precision for lower & upper lash building into the look of falsies.  I am convinced this mascara is magic.  IMG_3640.jpg

Anyone else with a taupe obsession?!  My most used cream shadow in 2016 was Rimmel’s Shadow Stick in the shade Bluffing.  This taupe shade has a duochrome-like soft lilac vibe that is so stunning.

Rimmel Eyeshadow Stick, Shade: Bluffing
If you made it through the end of this post, then I am sure you were wondering about palettes. Drum roll plzzzzz…for 2016 my most loved and used eyeshadow palettes were Urban Decay’s Naked Basics palettes.  I used them a lot with the Rimmel Bluffing shadow stick. Perfect pairing! IMG_3699.jpgThey were compact & sleek for travel & have great shades for quick & natural looks.  The   brilliant array of cool tone shades in the palettes I use a ton for my brows.

NEW WET N WILD Limited Edition Palettes, Etc.: First Impressions, Swatches, & Review!

Happy weekend, everyone!! In this video I share with you my first impressions, swatches, & review of some of Wet N Wild’s latest makeup products! ¬†If you love the duo chrome shade in their Comfort Zone palette, then you will surely love the new duo chrome shade in their new Plaid To The Bone palette! ¬†I am obsesssssed with it!! I picked up the Plaid to the Bone

Wet N Wild’s limited edition palette for Autumn ’16: Plaid To The Bone palette (left), Velour Vixen (right) | “Unchained” single shade from regular line (top) | Color Icon Green As Thistle mascara | Madonna DIY palette

&¬†Velour Vixen palettes recently. ¬†Both are limited edition Wet N Wild palettes for Autumn 2016. ¬†I also picked up their ‘Unchained’ shade in their regular single shade line, and the new Color Icon ‘Green As Thistle’ mascara. ¬†Let’s talk about the shadows. ¬†They are fantastic, pigmented, buttery smooth textures (per usual, for Wet N Wild shadows). ¬†However, I do wish that the maroon shade would apply a bit more pigmented (see below for swatch).

BUT¬†it is nothing that a few more layers, or a spritz of face mist on your brush can’t fix! ¬†The cream shade in the Velour Vixen palette is buttery, however, doesn’t swatch well, but does blend like a dream.

The navy shade in the Plaid To The Bone palette, wierd-ly, does not swatch navy at all.  It ends up swatching into a beautiful satin teal shade (3rd swatch from right as shown below).  All shades are build-able.  Love that.

Swatches | Velour Vixen palette (first three shades far left), Plaid To The Bone palette (next three shades), ‘Unchained’ single shadow (farthest to RT) | Wet N Wild

The duo chrome shade is my favorite of the bunch, surprise, surprise! ¬†It¬†swatches VERY similar in shade to the one in their Comfort Zone palette. ¬†But I don’t think it looks identical to the Comfort Zone duo chrome shade¬†when applied on the eyes. ¬†I can’t put a finger on this shade when I wear it.

One minute it looks like a haze of grey smoke, the next minute it looks like taupe, teal, or purple. ¬†I love it as an all over wash of color, and have been wearing every day since the video! ¬†The ‘Unchained’ shade is a light grey, silvery color. ¬†In the pan it gives off some flecks of sparkle, but when swatched, doesn’t show¬†much sparkle.

‘Unchained’ single shade | Wet N Wild

It is a very rich shadow with a lot of pigmentation, and applies ever so smooth! ¬†The swatch sometimes appeared matte, yet the pan photographs very sparkly. ¬†The green mascara was my least favorite of the products, unfortunately. ¬†Green is my favorite color, so I had very high hopes for this mascara. ¬†It’s not that the color isn’t there. ¬†It is. ¬†Just a bit to light, for what I had wanted. ¬†I bought it thinking it was going to be a bright emerald color like that on the packaging. ¬†It turned out to be a very light olive-y color on the lashes. ¬†I applied it on top of black mascara, in hopes that it would make it more vibrant. ¬†No such luck. ¬†It was almost impossible to get it to show up in a photo, also.

Close up of Wet N Wild’s Green As Thistle mascara. ¬†After several attempts of adjusting camera lighting, I was only able to get the green to show up on only one eye in the photo.

I think it could be a nice mascara to wear everyday, but definitely not for a statement look. ¬†The one photo where it did show up, it would only show through in the photo on one eye. There are other shades in the Color Icon Colored Mascara line, so maybe they will work out? ¬†Have you guys tried them? ¬†I would love to hear your thoughts on them. I absolutely love the palettes and the single shade! ¬†For around $3 for the palette, and $1 for the single shadow, you get high-end quality at drugstore price. Loveeee that. ¬†I did look on the site and can’t seem to find the new limited edition palettes, so hopefully you can find them in your local drugstores. ¬†I plan to depot the shades & add them to my Madonna palette¬†(with my other Wet N Wild shades) or create a new diy palette for them (click¬†link for how to make your own personalized diy palettes). ¬†Please be sure to give my video a thumb up & subscribe for more future videos and giveaways :))) Thanks for watching! Muahhhh!!! XO ~Kelle

Springtime State of Mind & Smelling the Milani Roses

Milani Rose Blushes | Shades (Left to Right): Romantic Rose, Coral Cove, Tea Rose

This evening I took my Chihuahuas out for their nightly walk on this perfect 65 degree night, and I caught the most beautiful wiff of fresh flowers & honeysuckle! A springtime state of mind has mos¬†def set in. ¬†It also made me get to work on the edit of my Milani Rose Blush review video! These limited edition blushes are just stunning! The rose embossing is a dream come true! ¬†They were love at first sight, but believe it or not, Romantic Rose and her ¬†evil, unopened, rosy step sisters were almost returned. Yep. I said it. And I never return makeup. ¬†Even after several attempts, it just would not swatch for me in my NYC hotel room last month. It felt like I had to dig into Romantic Rose with my finger to get any sort of color payoff. Yes, I almost returned them but did not feel like walking back to CVS in NYC’s 19 degree weather. ¬†The following morning I decided to try Romantic Rose on my face with my blush brush. Thank goodness for that NYC weather, because despite not swatching well, it picked up lots of pigmented colour

Milani Rose Blush | Shade: Romantic Rose

onto my brush! All hail, Romantic Rose is now my new holy grail blush!! ¬†In this video, I swatch and review for the first time the other two shades, Coral Cove, and Tea Rose. ¬†These blushes definitely have swatching minds of their own, but wear like a dream come true! ¬†After reviewing them, I cannot wait to wear these gorgeous¬†shades in some future makeup looks. Further, these dreamy drugstore blushes are made with real rose petals! ¬†To top things off, you can sometimes find them Buy¬†1, get one 50% off at your local CVS or Walgreen’s. Perhaps I am smelling a future rose Milani makeup tutorial with Coral Cove and Tea Rose! #springtime #stateofmind

This pic is from my recent¬†Spring Makeup Tutorial, in which I paired a glossy-eyed look with Milani’s¬†Romantic Rose:

Spring Makeup Look | Milani Rose Blush | Shade: Romantic Rose

This look was so much fun to create, and it really would not have felt like a Spring makeup tutorial had it not been for my new holy grail Milani Romantic Rose Blush!! I hope they come out with a rainbow array of these rose blush colors! xooxoxox
