Alohaaaaaa, my loves!! It has been ages since my last post! Speaking of ages (because great skincare routines can begin at any age :), keep on reading for natural, organic skincare for healthy and youthful skin!It has always been engrained in our minds that we have to wear makeup to look and feel beautiful. The truth is, we are given the skin we are in for life, so why are we taught to cover it up with makeup?! While I still love makeup, to me, there is nothing more beautiful than someone rocking no makeup looks. Lately, I have been kicking makeup as much as I can, to give my skin a bit of a breathing break. To do that requires a stellar skincare routine. As you may know, I am obsessed with Honey Girl Organics’ skincare products. Over the past month I have been absolutely adoring their Super Skin Food cream. Let’s just start with the smell. The Humboldt hippie in me is all about that calming herbal scent!! It smells identical to the scent in the HGO serum that I also can’t get enough of (I don’t like to end sentences in prepositions, but you knowwwww). Now lets get on with the goods. Super Skin Food is the richest cream in their line, and let me tell ya, it is the bees knees!! This cream is perfect for anyone with dry skin. Every other night I like to switch Super Skin Food with my Honey Girl Organics Night Cream. The best part about it (and all of HGO’s products), is that it is natural and made with the best, natural skincare ingredients: essential oils, honey, beeswax, olive oil, propolis, and bee pollen. We can’t forget about nurturing our toes, too! When my feet need some lovin from a day or night in heels, I layer on some of HGO’s Foot Balm.
It smells SO good!!! But most importantly, it has the same skin quenching vibe that the rest of their products have, and keep my feetsies super calm and hydrated. Remember, it is as important to quench our toes as it is our nose! :)) My 8 oz bottle of HGO’s The Lotion, my most prized skincare possesion, was nearing its final drops recently, and Honey Girl Organic’s was so kind and generous to send me a new full bottle!! I think my original bottle lasted an entire year!! Thank you so much, HGO!!!They also tossed in a lip balm (featured in the top photo above), that I’ve been keeping by the bed. Love it!! Many mahalos to HGO for keeping my skin in tip top shape!!! Honey Girl Organics are a cruelty-free skincare line, and their products are made by hand from the island of Oahu, Hawaii. If you have never ordered with HGO and are interested in their line, just pop on over to their site & it will auto direct you to a 15% off coupon for your first order :)))). If you happen to try them, I would love to hear all about how they are working for you! May we nurture and love the skin we are in! Have a beautiful and blessed weekend! MUAH!!!! ~Kelle
Aloha, everyone! Weekends would definitely not be the same without fresh coffee….and especially Kona RedHawaiian coffee!! We had a blast at the Natural Products Expo West last weekend down in Anaheim, CA!
Kona Red coffee is made with Kona coffee beans cultivated on the big island of Hawaii. My favorite Kona Red cold brewed blend is the Hawaiian Vanilla. It is only 25 calories, non-dairy, vegan, gluten-free, rich in antioxidants, & only 5g of sugar. Cold brewed coffee is less acidic & contains twice as much caffeine as hot brewed coffee! Who knew!?!! The taste of this blend is smooth and delicious. Some iced coffees can be overly sweet, and this one gets it just right! You can also add your own dairy preference to it and make it a latté! Yummmmmy!!!! Kona Red can be found at your local Bristol Farms, Albertson’s, Safeway, etc etc :)))
It was such a fun weekend and more on Kona Red’s delicious and healthy products will be coming soon in a future post! Thank you so much to Live Talent & Kona Red for the awesome booking!! Wishing everyone a rockin weekend!!! MAHALO!!!! XO ~Kelle
Hello my lovelies!! It’s time for another GIVEAWAY!! In my latest GRWM video I share with you not only a giveaway, but a BEATLES collectors edition gift set giveaway!! I’ll get to the makeup look in just a momento, because let’s get into what one lucky music lover will win!
Included in the gift set:
• 4 vinyl singles in their original artwork sleeves (includes classics Hey Jude, Ticket To Ride, Yellow Submarine, Eleanor Rigby, Revolution, Yes It Is, Something)
• 21″ x 21″ poster
• Single hub
• Exclusively numbered package
With all that said, I cannot wait to see their new movie, 8 Days A Week, directed by Ron Howard!!!!
Entirely unrelated, let’s get into the makeup look I put together in my GRWM vid. It has been feeling like Fall in LA, although upcoming weather reports say we will be experiencing heat again in a few days. lol. So I went with a Summery/Fall warm look using highend & drugstore makeup. My hair is a bit more blonde now, so warmer shades seem to be working the best with it. I chose some rusty orange, browns, & gold shades for my eyes. For my skin I loved topping my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation with Revlon’s skin light in the shade: peach light, Kat Von D’s shade/light blush in the shade Mickey & Mallory, & Anastasia’s Glow kit shade: Moonstone. This skin combo looks so natural, I loveeeeee it!!!! I really loved the nude Elf lipstick in shade Party In The Buff for this look as well. I hope you enjoy the vid & good luck to my music lovers out there!!! XO ~Kelle
Alas, March favorites!! Better late than never, right!?! In this video I share my favorite products over the month of March. I was blessed to meet some amazing brands at the Natural Products Expo a few weeks ago. The rest of the photos will be up soon, I promise!! A few of the brands made it into my March faves vid. Must say that I cannot get enough of Pacifica’s Dream Big mascara!
It doesn’t clump after 2-3 coats and makes my lashes super long! I have also been lovvvvvvvving the illuminating primer by Mineral Fusion (wearing it in my faves vid).
It reminds me a lot of the Smashbox and Bare Minerals “slippy” primers, that I adore! Mineral Fusion’s Illuminating primer is made with 24 carat gold flakes to help calm the skin.
This primer applies like a dream and smells like citrus. A tiny dot of this primer, goes a very long way. Can’t get enough of it!! Also I have been loving the Lilac Skin Softening Witch Hazel by Humphrey’s.
I think it’s fantastic that Humphrey’s offers several kinds of witch hazel to choose from, depending on your individual skin’s needs. The Lilac version is hands down my favorite because of its skin softening quality & refreshing scent. I’ll do a more in depth post on the benefits of witch hazel very soon. If you have oily skin, the Citrus Oil Control is also fantastic! I’ve used it a few times because my skin can get oily depending on how much makeup I am wearing. Another super fave is my David’s toothpaste!! It’s the best natural toothpaste I have ever used and let’s face it…the aesthetics of it’s recyclable metal package is so gorgeous! It also comes with a metal bar that you slide onto the bottom so that you can twist out every drop of toothpaste. LOVE THAT!! Sulfate free, this natural toothpaste leaves your mouth tasting so fresh and so clean, clean!! 🙂
Another fave is the Caldrea body oil in the scent No. 1 Aloe Water Apricot. It is a beautiful oil that keeps your skin super hydrated. It has lovely light notes of spring and apricot. So yummmmmy!!!!
Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the products mentioned in this video. Please let me know if you use them as well, or if you decide to try any of them out! Muahhhhh!!! XO ~Kelle
Eye glow brought to you by my new fave cream eyeshadow: e.l.f. Cosmetics’ “Soiree.”
In the container it looks cranberry/taupe in color. But if you use a light hand when applying it, it gives the most radiant skin-like glow!! There are silver sparkles …but they catch the light SO well. Also great for that glossy-eyed look without having to use sticky face gloss.
Neutral brown shades look awesome on top of Soiree (today I topped it with a mix of Naked Basics’ “Flaunt” + “Naked 2”). The combo wore great all day. In this photo my makeup was on for about 12 hours.
Used Soiree as my base all week & so far am laaaaaaaaving it!! Highly recommend it!! 👁👁👍🏻👍🏻
This week I had the pleasure of attending UCLA’ Health’s Healthy Living, Healthy Skin Seminar! I thought it would make a great educational addition to my skincare routine video! It was a great event hosted by UCLA dermatologist, Dr. Jenny Hu, and she presented a wealth of preventative health and skincare knowledge!
Sunscreen was a hot topic at the seminar and I was given some cool UV ray bracelets to wear that can serve as reminders to wear sunscreen! They turn blue when exposed to harmful UV rays, and will come in handy on hikes and beach days! Here are some awesome eats Dr. Hu recommends for healthy skin:
Vitamin D-rich foods
Vitamin E-rich foods
The best advice I can give about personal skincare is to keep skincare simple and continue doing what works best for you and your skincare needs! Nowadays we can easily get lured into the myriad of skincare products out there, when the best items are already in your kitchen! In my skincare routine video, I mention a few of my favorite daily, natural holy grails for my skin: water, vinegar (organic, raw, unfiltered, with the veil of the mother), honey (organic, raw), & green juice. I explain why I love using honey to not only exfoliate, but also to oxygenate my skin. The trick to skin oxygenation is to rub honey onto your skin in circular motions, and then rinse with water for your very own diy oxygenating facial! I also limit steaming my skin to once a week, because excessive heat is not so great for the skin! VINEGAR as a natural holy grail productl!?!? While it tastes pretty bad on it its own, vinegar can be diluted with water, and makes THE best healthy skin tonic! Organic, unfiltered vinegar with the “veil of the mother” is my favorite to use for many reasons: it is a great skin detox, boosts your immune system, helps circulation, & improves ph balance. In addition to ingesting it daily, I occasionally use vinegar on blemishes with a cotton ball and it zaps them like a charm! Also a great facial toner when diluted with water. First thing when I wake up I drink a tablespoon of vinegar and then have a glass of green juice on an empty stomach. These are great and affordable ways to get glowing skin, get your health on, AND boost energy! Whoop, whoop!! A shout out goes out to Blondie V for requesting my skincare routine video! Also a congratulations to Irina, in Russia, for winning the ELF eyeshadow set on her birthday! Happy birthday and thanks for your support, Irina!! And a giant thank you to Real Deal Management for my castings this week! My manager has worked so hard for me over the years and I feel so blessed!! Stay tuned for my get-ready-with-me makeup tutorial video for one of this week’s commercial castings. Please be sure to leave me any comments or questions you might have for me! Until my next post, have a gorgeous weekend, my lovelies!! xoxo ~Kelle
