Silicon Makeup Cleaning Brush Pad | $1 Gamechanger from the cooking section of your local Dollar Tree or $.99 Store!
This turquoise honey-combed silicon pad works on cleaning both dry and wet brushes! And drum roll please….it looks like a Tiffany’s brush cleaner for ONLY $1 from your local Dollar Tree or $.99 Store! They come in an array of colors. Some makeup cleaning pads can cost up to $30!!! I found mine in the cooking section at the Dollar Tree. Yep, it’s a silicon kitchen pot holder that I use for cleaning my makeup brushes. I use it 7 days a week for cleaning powder shadows from my dry brushes between each shadow change. This makes getting ready fast and convenient, and especially on days when my spare blending brushes are dirty.
I use the Tiffany’s makeup brush cleaning taco 7 days a week for cleaning my dry brushes between each eyeshadow change. So time saving!
I also like to give my brushes a thorough cleansing once a week. This makeup brush cleaning thingamajiggy really gets every speck of makeup off of my brush bristles, thanks to those honey-comb shaped grooves. And especially when I use makeup cleansing oils, like my favorite one from Nars, to wash the bristles.
Cleaning your makeup brushes with a makeup cleansing oil helps to moisturize your bristles, and preserve their longevity.
Over time, soaps can just dry the bristles out, and this doesn’t feel so great on your skin. When you wash your brushes with an oil, it is important to get every speck of old makeup off and also every speck of the oil off of your bristles. Any oil residue will weigh your bristles down, and won’t let them perform properly. But when the oil is completely rinsed off properly, your bristles will be clean, germ-free, and moisturized. Oil helps preserve the longevity of your brushes.
That all said, you can clean your makeup brushes with it wet or dry, and also use it for its primary reason: to remove hot, baking dishes from the oven. lol. Or use it to rest your brush holders or hot coffees on while you get ready. It is flat like a thin pancake (or crêpe? lol) and looks so SLEEK on the vanity.
My Lorac brushes are my favorite brushes for quick smokey eyes.
Also, you can roll your brushes up in this turquoise Tiffany’s looking taco for convenient travel purposes. It rolls up and folds over compactly. Simply secure with a hair tie or rubber band. #life #hacks

I just absolutely adore how bright and fresh it looks. When used as a cup holder, it literally saves me from spilling coffee on my brushes lol.

Since the running color theme of this thingamajiggy is turquoise, I had to wear my new Muskoka Nord Aquamarine Teepee necklace in the video. I love wearing it in support of our Native Americans. They need all of our help right now. NO DAPL!!! Looking forward to layering my Teepee necklace with my Muskoka Nord orange agate fish. I store them in my diy jewelry organizer. TGIF, loves!! I have finallyyyyyy completed the compilation of my 2016 beauty favorites! In no particular order of amor, I will begin with lip products. For 2016, and life in general: color was (is) key. Throughout the year I loved NYX’s Butter Lipsticks in the shades: Thunderstorm (I wear this nearly every day of my life), Moonlit Night, Sweet Shock, Afternoon Heat, & Rootbeer Float.
NYX Butter Lipsticks, Shades (left to right): Rootbear Float, Thunderstorm, Afternoon Heat, Moonlit Night, & Sweet ShockMy most loved daytime foundation for 2016 was my Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream, SPF 15, Shade: Light/Medium. This BB cream provides outstanding coverage with major skin hydration benefits that my dry skin needs. What’s great is that its finish doesn’t appear to be overly saturated with moisture or dewiness. It leaves your skin looking flawless, with coverage, and rarely required the use of powder. Hands down my go-to foundation product for most of my on-camera work in 2016. I’ve raved on and on about my love for Miracle Skin Transformer’s Miracle Balm over the last year, so I of course had to include it in my yearly faves. This creamy oil balm is the perfect fix for parched skin, lips, cuticles, etc. I wear it on my lips nearly every day. OBSESSED.
Garnier BB Cream, Miracle Skin Transformer’s Miracle Balm, & L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur concealerIf I didn’t have L’Oreal’s Visible Lift Blur concealer in my life, I would be lost! This light liquid type concealer is the perfect amount of coverage for hiding darkness and circles, without looking like you have concealer on. It really does blur the underyes, and its thin, light & creamy texture gives a weightless appearance to undereyes. Dream come true concealer!! Another makeup item I would be lost without are highlighters! My favorite face bling set in 2016 was Anastasia’s Sundipped Glow Kit.
My favorite shades in the palette are Tourmaline & Moonstone. They also make beautiful eyeshadows….

These shades are so buttery and blendable. I love the combo of cool and warm bronzers, and the yellow shade is perfection for setting under eye concealer. This palette is definitely well-traveled. My most cherished pink/white/lilac highlighter for inner eye, brow, cheek bones, cupid’s bow brightening was (is) my Measurable Difference Baked Face/Body Bronzer (but really it’s a rockin highlighter :))) It is one of the softest & smoothest baked highlighters I’ve ever used, & blends to perfection. I’d say I used it about 99.9% of the year for waking up my eyes!

While meant for the body, I use it on my face (don’t worry, the bottle says it can be used on the face ;). It has an authentic rose scent and I love the pretty flowers floating in it. A great facial hydration oil and bath oil as well. LOVE it.

I am getting very low on my giant bottle of Ole Henriksen Body Oil (oddly, it looks full in the photo, but it’s not). In fact, I am starting to fret as I am nearing the 75% empty mark. This was a big part of my nighttime relaxation ritual and helps me to get to zzzzzzzz. Mos def a 2016 favorite.
A girl without bronzers is a girl with pale skin, like me, lol. I have two bronzer adorations for 2016 (and well on into 2017 :))): Sonia Kashuk’s Cream Bronzer in the shade: Rich, and Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, in the shade: Bronzer.
Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer, Shade: Rich | Physicians’ Formula Butter Bronzer, Shade: BronzerI love the creaminess and blendability of Kashuk’s bronzer. Amazing for dry skin. And the Butter Bronzer is one of the most buttery powder bronzers I’ve ever used. It was the perfect shade in wintery pale skin months. I’ll be loving these just as much in 2017, too. My favorite cream blushes were NYX’s Tickled & Boho Chic. Tickled is a shade I will describe as looking similar to LAVA. This lavalicious shade is perfect for brightening skin with gorgeous color in summer and winter months. Boho Chic is that perfect pink for cheeks that look like your own with that hint of pink flush.

They give a sheen to the skin that is so gorgeous. My favorite shades are Luminoso, Rose D’Oro, Berry Amore, & Dolce Pink. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the shades from the line.
Milani Baked Blushes: Luminoso, Dolce Pink, Berry Amore, Rose D’oroA skin brightening liquid product that I adored in 2016 was Bare Minerals’ Biolucent Mineral Brightening Treatment. It gives glow and great moisturizing benefits as well. I like to apply it all over my face & undereyes after moisturizer, and before foundation. It gives my skin radiance without looking overly glowy/dewy.
My beloved Eucerin was my most used face moisturizer in 2016. The larger than life bottle is nearly gone as I used it a ton for facial massages. It’s one of the moisturizers that makes my skin feel and look hydrated when I wake up in the morning. Holy grail moisturizer fo sho!
In addition to moisturizing, proper exfoliation (once a week or so) are a must for keeping my skin healthy. I also like to drink rice water before my shoots to boost the health & appearance of my skin. That said, I am obsessed with Pacifica’s Rice Bright Luminizing Cleansing Paste. It exfoliates, boosts, & moisturizes my skin, all in one product!
As I am sure you have heard me go on and on about, Pacifica’s Dream Big Mascara was a big hit for me in 2016. The revolutionary, hard plastic magic bristles (that adjust via the handle) give me the precision for lower & upper lash building into the look of falsies. I am convinced this mascara is magic.
Anyone else with a taupe obsession?! My most used cream shadow in 2016 was Rimmel’s Shadow Stick in the shade Bluffing. This taupe shade has a duochrome-like soft lilac vibe that is so stunning.

They were compact & sleek for travel & have great shades for quick & natural looks. The brilliant array of cool tone shades in the palettes I use a ton for my brows.

The pop of color liner can be worn day or night with a gel Milani eyeshadow, in the shade Bella Cobalt, on the upper lash line. For uber color, I soaked my liner brush with face mist before dipping into the blue cobalt. To make the look more posh for night prowling, simply add some more black liner and smudge it out around the eyes! Because the blue liner shade is lighter in color than my eyes, it helped to make my eyes look bluer and brighter in sunlight. I wanted to pair the blue liner with some mod mauve-ness,

In this video I also share with you one of my eyebrow tricks for creating a cool modeling look that I like to wear a lot. Simply drag your brow pencil a little more towards the bare area between your brows to rock your inner Elvis! Whilst applying this makeup look with my fingers, I also discovered a few cool new makeup tricks! I discovered a great new way to get super-duper smooth under-eyes. Who knew that applying the silky Wet N’ Wild banana powder from the Dulce de Leche contour palette under the eye without a brush (for the first time ever), would give the absolute smoothest finish!!! I finished the look with some mauve-nude lips with two of my favorite NYX shades in Root Beer Float & Sandy Kiss. Entirely unrelated, let’s get into the makeup look I put together in my GRWM vid. It has been feeling like Fall in LA, although upcoming weather reports say we will be experiencing heat again in a few days. lol. So I went with a Summery/Fall warm look using highend & drugstore makeup. My hair is a bit more blonde now, so warmer shades seem to be working the best with it. I chose some rusty orange, browns, & gold shades for my eyes. For my skin I loved topping my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation with Revlon’s skin light in the shade: peach light, Kat Von D’s shade/light blush in the shade Mickey & Mallory, & Anastasia’s Glow kit shade: Moonstone. This skin combo looks so natural, I loveeeeee it!!!! I really loved the nude Elf lipstick in shade Party In The Buff for this look as well. Hi guys! I’ve spent most of this week designing and thought I would share with you my latest coat design, as featured in my recent OOTW fashion video. I took a vintage velvet and satin size 10 dress and designed it into a coat that is now sewn to size, fits perfectly and is more my style. Here is the vintage dress before:

First, I spent some time crushing the velvet. Design Tip: To crush velvet, use a flat-iron because it gives you more precision and designing capabilities than a large traditional iron.
Design Tip: Use a hair flat iron to crush velvet with precision.
Next, I took in a few inches of velvet in from the waist, and then cut & sewed slits down the front, back, and sides of the dress to shape the coat:

Then I took some of the excess velvet I cut from the front, and added a triangular crushed velvet tail:
