Long Time No Sea & NEW Honey Girl Organics Face Sticks!

Long time no sea, my dears!! I am soooo sorry that it has been so long since my last post. I’ve been incredibly swamped with work and life changes that I have had zero time to blog or film.  In lieu, I have been posting quick video reviews on Instagram story, if you want to follow me there.  The past few months have been dedicated to months of vocal work and songwriting.  Super sadly, I wasn’t able to hit up the beach most of summer.  Waaaaaaaaa.  A girl can dream about it, though :). The HGO Protect stick keeps my face protected from hot LA rays on the days that I run outside.  We are currently in the midst of October, and today is 100 degrees outside!  The Protect stick contains uncoated Non-nano Zinc Oxide to filter out uv rays and heal chapped skin.  It moisturizes & soothes my skin all day and doesn’t clog my pores like sunscreen generally does.  SWOON.  I’ve been absolutely loving the HGO Prime stick before I apply my Wet N Wild foundation.  It is the most hydrating primer I have ever used.  So hydrating, in fact, that if you wanted to skip a moisturizer and just apply the primer stick instead, you would be goooooood.  If you have dry skin like I do, definitely give it a go!

My most used of them all is the HGO H2GO stick.  Lately I have been using it at night before I apply my Honey Girl Organics Night Cream for a double dose of hydration before zzzz.  H2GO is made with organic bergamot, that helps to relax facial nerves and muscles, and organic German chamomile to help soothe the skin.  Also love to use it as a lip balm and toss it in my handbag for quick skin pick-me-ups throughout the day.  All three of these beeswax babies make getting ready an absolute breeze for just under twenty bucks per stick. An Alien Is Among Us!

An alien is among us in my latest Sci-Fi Makeup Look & GRWM video! This look was recently requested on my YouTube channel and was so much fun putting together for you guys!  When I think of sci-fi I think of aliens and robots, so that became the inspiration for the look.  I used my Urban Decay Vice palette to create the gradient smokey grey/white eye for the alien–robot effect.  For the ethereal looking highlight, I used Wet N Wild’s When the Nude Strikes highlighter stick.  I wanted the focus to be on the alien eyes, so I topped the look off with a nude lipstick by Wet N Wild called Blossom Out.  This look turned out to be one that I loved so much that I’ve begun wearing it out at night.  Hope you guys enjoy the look and video! Hello, my loves!! In this video, I review and swatch Lorac’s Enchanting Elegance and Refined Romance palettes, both palettes inspired by the runway! I also do a GRWM Victorian romance type look with the Enchanting Elegance palette.

For this Victorian Romance look, I went with a pale skin with pop of pink cheeks look, glossy wine lips, & satin eyes. The Enchanting Elegance palette was so perfect for creating this particular makeup look.  Thanksgiving is approaching and I think it is a soft and pretty look for the holidays.

Included in the Enchanting Elegance palettes are 2 satin & 4 matte shadows, 1 highlighter, and 2 blushes. Lorac’s Refined Romance Palette comes with 4 satin and 2 matte eyeshadows, 2 highlighters, and 1 blush.   If you are more into matte eyeshadows, the Enchanting Elegance palette might be a better option for you as you do receive more matte shades with this palette.  If you are a highlighter person, the Refined Romance comes with 2 highlighters, rather than just the one highlighter included in the Enchanting Elegance palette.

The eyeshadows apply and blend beautifully with the smooth textures we know and love from Lorac.  The eyeshadow color schemes are gorgeousssss.  The Enchanted Elegance palette offers more options for smoky eye looks as compared to the Refined Romance palette.

I used both drugstore and high-end products to achieve this look.  The pop of color liner can be worn day or night with a gel Milani eyeshadow, in the shade Bella Cobalt, on the upper lash line. For uber color, I soaked my liner brush with face mist before dipping into the blue cobalt.  To make the look more posh for night prowling, simply add some more black liner and smudge it out around the eyes! Because the blue liner shade is lighter in color than my eyes, it helped to make my eyes look bluer and brighter in sunlight. I wanted to pair the blue liner with some mod mauve-ness,

so I used Milani’s Berry Amore blush & Smashbox Soft Lights Tint.  This cheeky pairing is great with Mac’s Myth lipstick. The focus of this look really was on the eyes with the rockin liner & lashes.   I can never ever be without my Pacifica Dream Big mascara.

TGIF, everyone!!  I hope everyone had a beautiful week and also hope you have a rockin weekend to come!  If you like comedy, then you will surely enjoy seeing me be at the devices of my fingers in the NO Makeup Brushes Challenge!  Thank you to my amazing subscriber, Nonie, for suggesting that I do this fun full faced makeup look without any brushes!  I loved the way the look turned out! In this video I also share with you one of my eyebrow tricks for creating a cool modeling look that I like to wear a lot. Simply drag your brow pencil a little more towards the bare area between your brows to rock your inner Elvis!  Whilst applying this makeup look with my fingers, I also discovered a few cool new makeup tricks!  I discovered a great new way to get super-duper smooth under-eyes.  Who knew that applying the silky Wet N’ Wild banana powder from the Dulce de Leche contour palette under the eye without a brush (for the first time ever), would give the absolute smoothest finish!!! Highlighters Only Challenge!

Happy Labor Day, my loves!!  I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend!  Just in case you missed my latest YouTube video, my Highlighters Only Challenge video is below!  Thank you to my subscriber, Nick, for requesting this video!  It was so much fun putting together this full-face-using-highlighters-only look with some of my favorite glow-potions.  I didn’t have a shimmery foundation, so I made one by mixing up three of Hard Candies’ highlighters.  Hysterical as a foundation, the 3-highlighter mixture is actually a great one for daily dewy glow on the high points of the face!  Overall, I would most definitely say that this look isn’t meant to be a wearable look, as lots of highlights on the skin can exaggerate every nook & cranny!  BUT, it does photograph great for editorial and black and white photos!  Hope you guys enjoy the video!  ❤ ❤ ~Kelle

Self-Tanning Dupe | Bare Minerals vs. L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Mousse

Happy Friday, lovelies! It has been feeling a lot like summer in LA this week! That said, it is also time for some sunless tanning! I’ve recently discovered a dupe for Bare Minerals Faux Tan Face glow! Faux face has been my quick, go-to face tanning shade lately.  I feel like when I wear it, it is enough of a sun kissed look and makes for less makeup to wear.  I have recently discovered that the Bare Mineral’s faux face shade is nearly identical to one of my favorite drugstore self-tanners: L’oreal Sublime Bronze Mousse! Faux Tan Face sells for $26, while L’Oreal’s is in the $7 price range.  It i difficult to notice any difference between the two shades!

 

In this photo:  Bare Mineral’s Faux Tan Face is worn on my face, & L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze is worn on my neck & décolletage.  Sublime Bronze is an exact dupe!

For work and especially in warmer weather, I go through a lottttttt of self-tanners!  Nothing really beats a professional spray tan, but sometimes I only have time for diy method.  My faux glow is almost out, so I will probably just use the L’Oreal mousse on my face and body for my upcoming photo shoot. April Favorites & Current Makeup-Prep Routine

Hi guys!  My April Faves & Current Makeup-Prep Routine vid is now up!  There were a ton of products that I’ve been loving this month, hence the lengthy vid.  I’ve been loving Jurlique’s Purely Age-Defying Eye Cream.

It has a gel/lotion-like texture, and leaves my eye area feeling super soothed.  Many tend to think that applying heavy creams to the undereye area is a good thing.  On the contrary, heavy eye creams can actually clog the tiny pores around your eyes and draw attention to your eye area.  Thinner textured, uber-hydrating eye creams are the way to go for sensitive undereyes.  Jurlique’s is definitely one of my faves.  Bare Minerals Biolucent Mineral Brightening Treatment has also been amazeeee.  I apply it after I apply the Rose Hip Oil, and then I apply my moisturizer.

This combo has been giving my skin healthy radiance without the need to slather on as much highlighter 😉  One of my new holy grail’s is Chrislie/Measurable Difference’s Rose Hip Body Oil.  It is a luxurious, calming, & hydrating oil.  On the bottle it does say the oil can be applied to face, so I’ve been primarily using it as such :_)  Aside from the light, true rose scent & lovely roses floating at the top of the glass bottle, I love that a little goes a long way.  It applies from a glass dropper as a light oil, not  a heavy one, & leaves my skin feeling hydrated and dewy.

This oil very could be my fave product of life!!!!  Also been loving Real Techniques blush brush & Wet N’ Wild’s contour palettes!

What was I doing before this blush brush!?!!  The contour palettes include super soft powders that blend flawlessly! Especially love the banana shade for setting my undereye concealer.  The bronzers are matte, and are amazing for sculpting and all-over bronzing, not to mention, they also make great crease shades for that balanced bronzed makeup look. Petal Fresh’s Toning Hibiscus Papaya body butter has done wonders for body hydration this month as well.  I also recommend their Honey Coconut Oil flavor :)))  The Petal Fresh Pomegranate Face Wipes have been my quick face exfoliation go-to’s!

The thing I love the most about Petal Fresh is that their products include super natural ingredients.
